The Allen Lund Co.’s software and logistics division has entered into an agreement with Locus Traxx Worldwide to improve visibility, temperature monitoring and tracking.
The La Cañada Flintridge, Calif.-based national third-party transportation broker’s ALC Logistics is working with the Jupiter, Fla.-based Locus Traxx to integrate real-time visibility and load temperature and location tracking into shipments, according to a news release.
“We have been developing this tracking system with Locus Traxx over the past several years because we understand that visibility and traceability are paramount to the produce industry,”
Kenny Lund, ALC’s vice president of support services, said in the release. “The combination of automated load tracking with our TMS provides key visibility while loads are in transit.”
The program was designed by and for produce experts, David Benjamin, Locus Traxx’s president and chief executive officer, said in the release.
“As ALC’s TMS is integrated to produce, it only made sense for us to combine technologies in order to deliver necessary information faster and more efficiently,” Benjamin said in the release.
“When you add real-time visibility of temperature and location, and the ability to take corrective action while the product is in transit, our customers see better on-time delivery, dramatically reduced claims processing and no one has to go hunting to pull data from an old-time logger.”
